Wendy Nottoli President,
M.A., CCC, BCaBA
Wendy lives a busy, productive life working with her patients and their families, interacting and enriching skills and knowledge of KSLC staff through education, enjoying the company of her husband, and keeping herself healthy. Wendy is a Certified Speech-Language Pathologist and a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst. She is advanced trained in the PROMPT technique and a certified TALK TOOLS specialist in the area of oral motor. Wendy is SOS trained, a program designed to work with feeding challenges. She is certified as a HANEN leader for: It "Takes Two To Talk"; "More Than Words"; "Talkability"; and "Learning Language and Loving It". Wendy provides training for parents and professionals using these program designs. She is a certified specialist for the Listening Program (TLP); Integrated Listening System (ILS); and Fast ForWord. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Friendship Circle, a program for special needs children involving teenage volunteers. When she is not at the Center you will find her working out, watching tennis with her husband, reading a good book, or creating new ways to serve her patients and staff.
Neyda Ketchum Speech-Language Pathologist, M Ed., CCC
Neyda Ketchum is a Bi-lingual Speech and Language Pathologist who has been working with the Kendall Speech and Language Center since 1995.
Ms. Ketchum graduated with a Baccalaureate Degree in the area of Elementary Education. She went on to complete her Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from the Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.
The areas of specialty that Ms. Ketchum focuses on include children with speech and language disorders related to bilingual issues; auditory processing, and Autism and related disabilities. She has received training in: Lindamood-Bell’s Visualizing and Verbalizing for Language Comprehension and Thinking Program and Talkies for Oral Language Comprehension, Hanen’s “It Takes Two to Talk”, and the PROMPT technique. She oversees the Fast ForWord program, as well as the computer-based and iPad-based programs offered at our Center.
Veronica Canchon Board Certified Behavior Analyst Ed.S., BCBA
Veronica received her B.A. in Psychology with a focus on Behavior Analysis from Florida International University. She has completed graduate level coursework in Behavior Analysis and is a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst. Recently, Veronica obtained her degree as an Education Specialist from the School of Psychology at Florida International University. Veronica has nearly 10 years of experience working with special needs children and their families at home and school, using applied behavioral analytical strategies. Additionally, she is trained in using psychological methods, instruments, and techniques for the purposes of measurement and understanding learning and behavior in children.
Alyssa Hernandez Speech-Language Pathologist M.S. CCC-SLP
Alyssa got her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Florida in 2010 and her Master's Degree from Florida Atlantic University in 2013. She interned with KSLC in the Spring of 2013 and fell in love with KSLC's patients and programs. She enjoys working with children with language and pragmatic difficulties. Alyssa was PROMPT trained in 2014. In her free time, Alyssa likes to read, shop, and spend time with her husband, dog, and family.
Eva Jackson Speech-Language Pathologist M.A.
Eva began interning with us at the Center in winter of 2004. Once she graduated from the University of Central Florida, she came on board full time as one of our Speech-Language Pathologists. She is a talented therapist who loves working with children. Eva has overseen the Next Step Program which is a language-pragmatic stimulation program designed to enhance speech, language, and communication development in a natural, supportive environment. She has also created and implemented some of the pragmatic groups that we offer here at our Center which focus on dealing with change, making good choices, and preparing for school. She has continued her studies and is certified in administration of The Listening Program (TLP) and is also trained in the area of PROMPT.
Jillian Mehler Music Therapist MM,MT-BC
Jillian Mehler is the owner of Whole Steps Creative Arts Center and is a Board Certified Music Therapist, with advanced training in Neurologic Music Therapy. Jillian received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy from Charleston Southern University and her Master’s Degree in Music Therapy from the University of Miami. In addition to her clinical work, Jillian instructs undergraduate and graduate music therapy practica through the University of Miami. Jillian has several years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, language and communicative impairments, and other varied exceptionalities. Her dynamic therapy approach includes behavioral, sensory integration, and neurological implementations through music.
Cristina Ortega Speech-Language Pathologist M.S., CCC-SLP
Cristi is a PROMPT-trained Speech-Language Pathologist. She truly enjoys working with children and is passionate about her work in the areas of oral motor and feeding therapy. Cristi is also SOS-trained and a certified HANEN leader for "It Take Two to Talk". In her free time, Cristi takes pleasure in reading and traveling, but mostly in spending time with her husband and two children.
Onel Perez Yoga Instructor and Physical Education Coach
Onel has been working with special needs children at KSLC for four years as both a Yoga Instructor and Physical Education Coach. He graduated from Florida International University in 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Science with courses in both Special Education and General Education. Onel graduated from South Miami High School in 1991, and following his graduation he spent three years dancing for Vivian Tobillo Dance Company. He then served eleven years with the United States Marine Corps. Onel pursued a career as a personal trainer and found a balance by becoming a Yoga instructor. Onel is a TRX instructor, kickboxing certified, and a swimming instructor. Onel became interested in working with special needs children when his nephew was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Onel has studied Yoga and Children with ASD through courses such as "Stop and Relax" with Louise Goldberg, M.A. RYT. On a personal note, Onel has a lovely wife and two children. Anna Sherry Speech-Language Pathologist M.S., CCC
Anna started her career in 1997 working at the Kendall Speech and Language Center, Inc. as a trained Technician working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. After a year, Anna decided to focus on speech and language development as her chosen career. She earned the position as a Speech-Language Assistant at our Center in 1998. Anna then went on to earn her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and finished her training in New York City. Anna is living in South Miami with her husband and three little girls. Anna enjoys teaching children social skills to assist them in their social settings. She teaches the children school-related skills, friendship making skills, and dealing with feelings. Anna initially ran the Little Steps Big Rewards program that is offered at KSLC. This program is for children functioning between the ages of 2 1/2 and 4 years of age. This program is designed to facilitate emergent literacy, language development, social interaction and phonemic awareness. Anna is now working at Kendall Speech and Language Center, Inc. part-time due to her busy schedule at home.
Saenya Simms Program Director, First Step
Saenya is a Florida International University graduate. She has studied Behavior Analysis and is trained in Picture Exchange Communication System and is a certified Handwriting Without Tears and Interactive Metronome provider. As Program Supervisor of the First Step Applied Behavior Analysis/Verbal Behavior Program and Special Steps, Saenya oversees and mentors our Technicians and is involved in parent training. When she is not working, Saenya enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Jaclyn Angulo, Speech Language Pathologist M.S., CCC-SLP
Jackie graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2010. She then began working at KSLC as a speech and language assistant and pursued her Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology at Nova Southeastern University in 2014. She has training in PECS Level 2 and PROMPT. She is also a Hanen certified teacher for “More Than Words”. She is passionate about working with children with a variety of language and speech difficulties and is always looking for something new to learn in order to better serve her patients. Kayla Abril, Speech Language Pathologist M.S., CCC-SLP
Kayla graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2012. She returned to Miami to be with her family and to pursue her Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology at Florida International University. She is training in PROMPT intervention and as a HANEN certified instructor for "It Takes Two to Talk." She enjoys working with children of all different ages with a variety of speech, language, and pragmatic issues. Kayla currently leads the Language Group for our Little Step Big Reward Program focusing on language development and social communication skills among peers. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family and friends, working out, watching Netflix, and going boating.
Annalyse Pucci, Speech Language Pathologist M.S., CF-SLP
Annalyse started her career in 2010 working as a Speech Pathology Assistant with children on the Autism Spectrum. Her love for the field grew and she went on to pursue her graduate degree. During her last year of graduate school, she was an intern at KSLC where her passion for working with children was solidified. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University in April of 2015 with a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and returned to KSLC as a full-time SLP. She is thrilled to be a part of this wonderful team and to continue her growth and education in this dynamic field. Vanessa Diaz, Teacher
Vanessa graduated from Miami Dade College in June 2011 with a Bachelor's of Science in Special Education K - 12 with an ESOL and Reading endorsement. While studying in Miami Dade she was a member of Kappa Delta PI, an international honor society in education. Her first experience working with students on the spectrum was during her internship , where she taught high school students independent living skills. Shortly after her internship in September of 2011, she began working at Learning Links School, a private school for students affected by developmental disorders, learning disabilities and ASD. As the Lead Teacher for four years she gained experience teaching different grade levels and students with varying abilities. Vanessa is certified in Handwriting without Tears. She has completed the TouchMath professional development program for mathematical instruction. Vanessa enjoys teaching and making a difference in the lives of children . In her free time Vanessa spends her time with her husband and their two American bulldogs.
Amanda Bremer-Johnson, MA, BCBA
Amanda is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with experience implementing and supervising early intervention treatment programs for young children with Autism and related disorders. She received her B.S. in Applied Psychology from New York University and has a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with emphasis in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Ball State University. Before joining KSLC, Amanda worked as a Behavior Analyst in Northern California, performing assessments and providing supervision for ABA programs within home and school settings. Charisse Ariza, Speech Language Pathologist M.S., CFY
Charisse began her career at KSLC in 2007 as a technician in the FIRST STEP program. In 2009, she graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education and began working at KSLC as a certified academic lead teacher for STEPS FOR SUCCESS home schooling program. Over the years while working at KSLC she has developed a passion in the area of Speech Language Pathology. Charisse set out to pursue her Master's Degree at NOVA Southeastern University and graduated in 2015.
Currently Charisse is working on her clinical fellowship year as a Speech Language Pathologist at Center. She is passionate about working with children with a variety of speech and language challenges and enjoys her time at KSLC. Margarita Del Valle, OTR/L OT BAMM Services Group, LLC
Maggie graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor Science in Occupational Therapy in 2010 with a specialty in pediatrics. Maggie has worked for most of her professional life at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Maggie has specialized training in the following areas: neurology, trauma, intensive care units, medical-surgical, orthopedics, spinal cord, hands, pediatrics (NICU/PICU), splinting, serial casting as well as inpatient rehabilitation, acute, and outpatient with all the above specialties.
